Mindfulness Based Addiction Treatement, or Mindfulness Based Addiction Revovery is an approach to healing addiction that blends eastern philosophical practices such as yoga and mindfulness meditation with conventional addiction treatment. Traditional western approaches to treatment have been based on cognitive behavioral approaches to treatment. The integration of yoga and mindfulness meditation into the  therapeutic process emphasizes training the mind and body to slow down and experience greater stillness. From within this stillness is the potential to discover the wisdom needed to find joy and move beyond addiction. Read more: Mindfulness Based Addiction Recovery

Yoga For Anxiety

Yoga can help to calm the nervous system and relax the body and mind. There are several breathing techniques that come from Yoga which teach us to reverse anxiety states. Physical movement of the body coordinated with deep regular breath work can further enhance one's ability to find a greater sense of stillness and serenity.

I will be offering a mindfulness based stress reduction workshop within Toronto. The workshop will provide skills for managing stress and anxiety. Cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness meditation,  yoga and breath work will be weaved together in this fun and dynamic workshop.

Beginners Yoga In Toronto

Beginners Yoga Toronto
Kripalu Yoga emphasizes the importance of teaching yoga in a safe, fun, creative way that enlivens the spirit and moves the breath and body.

Several studies have shown significant injury rates associated with yoga. The injury rates inherently have little to do with the actual practice of yoga. Most injuries are due to a lack of awareness and instruction relating to how to enter, maintain and move out of postures in ways that respect your bodies abilities and limitation.

If there was only one lesson to be taken from a yoga class it would be learning to listen to your body.

I will be offering a series of beginners yoga workshops within Toronto over the next few months. The classes will emphasize the practice of yoga in a way that cultivates awareness of of body and breath, prioritizes safety and non-injury and improves physical fitness. Participants will also learn how they can develop their own home practices. Please revisit the website or sign up for my newsletter.
